| Home | Koh Chang Destinations and Events Events The 17th to 21st of January the people of Koh Chang hold a memorial service for the sinking of a Thai marine vessel during the 17 th January 1941 Thai and French (WW II) naval battle. The memorial includes the floating of Kratongs into the sea in honor of the death. Trat Independence Day, on March 23, the province of Trat celebrates the returning of Trat province into the Thai sovereignty after French occupation. Most celebration is concentrated in and around the provincial government hall. Late May or early June there is the Trat Fruit Fair, the province of Trat is best known for sweet Salak or Rakam. Thai Red Cross Society will organize the Children’s Day Festival 2006 in Trat The Thai Red Cross Society will organize the Children’s Day Festival 2006 at Ratchakarun Hall in Trat province on January 13th next year. This event is expected to draw in tens of thousands visitors. The Children’s Day Festival 2006 is being cooperatively organized by the navy, police, and many other public and private agencies. Youths will be able to receive many presents while foods, drinks, and snacks are being prepared for many visitors. Many games and entertaining activities such as concerts will be held at the festival. Children will be able to see the army artilleries and tanks being displayed by the navy. Parachuting demonstration will also be organized. People of Cambodia have also been invited to join the Children’s Day Festival 2006. |
