| Home | Koh Chang island attractions On the Mainland On Koh Chang island There are a number of delightful waterfalls on the island, in particular Than Mayom waterfall located 1 kilometer (0.5 miles) from the boat pier and National Park Office. There is a footpath which follows the falls Klong Plu waterfall in located 3 kilometers (2 miles) from Ao Klong Prao. The two most popular and picturesque beaches on the island are White Sand beach and Sai Khao beach. The latter, on the northwest coast, in the longest beach on the island and in bordered by coconut groves and forest. Heading south is the steep Klong Phrao beach. It is possible to swim here but care must be taken regarding the undertows during the rougher sea conditions. It is recommended to be extra careful with children or older persons. Another popular seaside destination is Ao Sapparot or Pineapple Bay on the northeast coast. Daily excursions are available in the mainland towns from the majority of the hotels. On the island excursions are arranged thought the resorts. Daily excursions are fairly limited; on the mainland they involve the temples and gem markets whilst on the island they are to the waterfalls and island hopping snorkeling and swimming with dolphins trips. * IMPORTANT * There are no facilities for renting cars on the island, however there are motorbike and mountain bike available for rent. |
